MnSCU System Status

2009-08-31 Internet Outage 15:45-16:35

MnSCU Internet connectivity failed for all colleges routed via UofM at approximately 15:45. A Procera bandwidth management device stopped allowing new network connections. The errant device was restarted at 16:35. Connectivity to and from the Internet appears to have returned to normal.

2009-08-31 D2L Login Errors @2:10 PM

Users at several schools reported 500 errors at login, or slow (30 seconds or more) load time for home pages.  Errors reported beginning around 2:10 PM. 
A stored procedure update was blocking some processes.  Issue resolved within 10 minutes.

2009-08-19 State Wide Network Outage, 07:16 -> 07:30am

OET experienced a state wide network outage from 07:16 -> 07:30. The cause appears to be a misconfigured network device that caused a routing loop when brought back on line after a circuit failure. A significant portion of the state backbone was unavailable, including connection to some MnSCU campuses and connections to MnSCU data centers.

OET has taken the misconfigured equipment off line.

2009-08-16 D2L Unavailable 05:00-09:00

D2L will be unavailable to users on Sunday, August 16, from 5 AM to 9 AM to perform routine maintenance. (We are using a reserved weekly Sunday downtime.)

2009-08-08 D2L Unavailable 05:00-09:00

D2L will be unavailable to users on Saturday, August 8, from 5 AM to 9 AM when we take a maintenance release (MR3) to enhance D2L performance and fix issues in D2L. If more time is needed to apply the update, the downtime may extend beyond 9 AM. (We are using the reserved first Friday of the month downtime window for this maintenance release.)

2009-08-02 D2L Available as of 5:45 AM

D2L is up and available to users, as of 5:45 AM after returning to our D2L Production system. For the past week D2L has been run from the Failover site.
